If there is one must-do event on the Brisbane calendar then this is it! At least it is if you are a fashionista! It incorporates everything we love about fashion here at The Wedding Alley – amazing designers, stylish locations, classy cars and free-flowing champagne. How can you go wrong with that?
We attended a number of shows this year, and are very excited to showcase some of the incredibly talented Brisbane bridal and gown designers we saw on the runway.
Brad Webb, owner and designer at Darb Bridal Couture, featured in the Brisbane Arcade Group Show, and, as in previous years, mastered the catwalk with the show finale. The timeless elegance of the strapless Darb gown is perfect for so many brides, showing off the shoulders and waist and floating with a the luscious fabrics of a full skirt. A number of more contemporary gowns added to the diversity of the parade with light fabrics that looked liked feathers, along with laces, textures and embellishments to die for.
Other designers in the Brisbane Arcade Group Show included Pia Du Pradal, Maiocchi, The Irma J Smith House of Fashion, Tengdahl and Bora. Many of their designs could (in fact should), find their way into your suitcase for that exotic honeymoon on a tropical paradise, or perhaps around the streets of Rome. Several of the designs could also be perfect for Bridesmaids dresses for those who want something a little more avant-garde or having a destination wedding.
